Oma's Nursing Home
I used to visit my Oma everyday. Since it was her mom, my grandma would take me every day after school when I was only four. I always enjoyed going because I got to see my Oma and the animals they kept in the field behind the building. Although I barely remember my Oma or even going to visit her, I remember it was always something I enjoyed. My grandma would come after school to pick me up and we’d drive to the nursing home. When we got there we would walk across the large parking lot until we got to the even larger building. Inside it was quiet and smelt almost like a hospital with a hint of vanilla. I remember running up to the elevator in excitement. I loved the feeling you got in your stomach when you went in an elevator. My grandma always let me press the buttons on the elevator. The rooms were all a bright white colour with huge windows. It was also really warm in the rooms. The sun shone through the window lighting up the door frame. The rooms were always so plain, dull and empty creating a more peaceful atmosphere. After visiting my Oma for an hour we would go outside to the back of the building where we would look at the animals. I remember my favourite animals were the horses because their size amazed me. There were only a few different animals. There we’re some cows, some birds and some horses. I really liked the one brown horse and I remember naming it cocoa because of its chocolaty brown colour. The animals were to far out to touch but we could still see them clearly. Eventually, the sun would begin to set giving us an orange or sometimes pink background to look at. This was always a time that I would look forward to because it was so peaceful, relaxing and there was even a nice view. After my Oma passed away we never visited that nursing home again. Mostly because there was no reason to anymore with her gone and it brought back too many memories. I haven’t been to this place since I was four but it still remains clearly in my memory like it happened yesterday. I think the reason I remembered this place is because it had value and it was more than just a place. I spent a majority of my childhood there and it always felt like home. The nurses were always kind to me and my grandma and the animals kept me occupied. When my Oma passed away, we didn’t just lose her. We lost the place where memories were made. All though I will most likely never visit this place again, I will surely never forget it. It is a part of my past and it is apart of who I am.
Money is Never Enough(Poem)
I've been showered with money since I was young,
I have piles of stuff that I will never need.
But i've been like this for so long,
and all it's done is fill me with conceit.
Money is always good when you first begin,
until the end when you realize it's not.
The normal life that everyone else gets to live,
is something that can never be bought.
Everything I own is taken for granted,
and there's nothing i've ever had to work for.
Every wish i've ever had has been granted,
yet I always have a craving for more.
People often mistake money for hapiness,
but hapiness is something much more deep.
In reality, it is more like a curse,
that causes you to lose sleep.
A milion dollars or a million tears?
I'm all alone and the silence deafens me.
I try to scream but no one ever hears.
Everything I do comes across desperately.
Wealth can provide you with what you want on the outside,
But there will always be more to desire on the inside.

But there will always be more to desire on the inside.
Caption: the house where Kelly and Riley grew up
Abandon and left to rot, are all just
understatements. This place is more than just a memory or part of my past. It
is my entire life as a child, where I spent the majority of my life growing up.
It seems like just yesterday, me and my brother we’re racing each other to see
who could get to the edge of the property and back first. It’s hard to remember
these memories and then realize that they are over. But it was such a peaceful
and beautiful place. The way the forest surrounded us like a shield against the
rest of the world. The way the trees swayed all around us when the wind blew
during a storm. Dust clouds would form above the dirt paths leading to the
road. The fog would drift out into the fields allowing only the tips of the
trees to show. From the house, we could here the wind forcefully hitting against
the window causing it to rattle. There is nothing like the sound of the wind
whistling in the middle of the night while you’re warm body is tucked in bed.
But this is nothing compared to the farm during a humid sunny day. The air is
warm and you can smell the freshly cut grass. The way the sun glistens against
the small stream seems to hypmotize you every time. Although the extreme heat the
grass remains a healthy bright green colour. It seems almost like a dream.
Everything in nature collages together creating an astonishing image. When we walked around the outside of the property our ears were filled with the sound of zeta bugs and rustling leaves as the warm breeze rolled through. Sometimes we would walk through the forest, just me and him. It was cool beneath the trees and the ground was cold, hard and unaffected by the sun’s heat. The animals would scatter at our presence in fear. The ground in the forest was filled with pinecones, some half eaten. By the time the sun goes down you are left with goose bumps running up your arms. By then we’d run back to the house and have ourselves a cup of hot tea to warm our shivering bodies up. On the inside, our house smelled of sweet cinnamon. The house was always dark accept for the flickering light from the scented candles that slowly burn in the family room. All the memories of our family farm seem to fill my head. Now that our parents are no longer with us and we have moved into our own houses, we no longer spend our life here. No one ever bought the land after us, leaving the house empty and quiet. Other people, who pass by the farm, see it as just an old, broken down farm. But to us, it is all we have left of our parents and us while we grew up. Even if this farm gets torn down or bought by new owners, it will always have significant meaning to me. It is something I will never forget because it is not just in my memory, but also in my heart.

Where I see myself in the Future
Many of us plan our future, but there is no way we can ever be sure how our lives will turn out. When I imagine my future, I think of three different categories. I think about my relationships with family and friends, my view on politics and the community and my career and education. When I look at these three things, I can create goals I need to achieve, to make my future up to my expectations.
A very important factor in someone’s life is there family and friend relationships. I am hoping to have a strong relationship with my parents when I am older. Once I finish school and get a job I will most likely move out of my parents house and get my own place. Even though I most likely won’t be living with my parents, I still hope I can have a healthy relationship with them and the rest of my family. Sometimes you need people other than family to talk to. Friends are people you can talk to about problems and they help you with your difficulties. I plan to keep the friends I trust now so I have support when I can’t go to my family.
Everyone has there own opinion about politics. I would like to live somewhere where the people have freedoms, but there are laws to provide safety as well. In my opinion democracy is the best way to keep your people controlled and happy. Since democracies allow you to vote, I believe that people are more likely to follow the laws because they get a say in how their government works. Being a democrat is the best way to have freedoms yet still have boundaries. I also believe that everyone in a community should pitch in or volunteer some how. Once I finish school, I hope to volunteer to earn my share in the community.
School is mandatory until high school is completed. After that, college and university are optional. I would like to go to either college or university depending on which is better for the career path I choose. In the future, I see myself in some kind of art business since that is what I am good at and enjoy. I hope to choose a designing business that pays good money so I am able to support myself when I am older. My education would be first priority because it defines the kind of life style I am going to live. What ever I decide to become in the future, I just hope it is a job that I enjoy and don’t mind doing for the rest of my life. My ideal job is one that is a challenge and keeps me busy, yet I won’t stress about it.
In conclusion, our futures are all a mystery no matter how much we plan ahead. I try to plan out my relationships with family and friends, my view on politics and the community and my career and education. Although I can never be sure my future will turn out how I want to, I can still make goals so I have something to strive for.
Event Planning Business
Who are my customers and what do they want?
My business would have a variety of customers. The majority of them would be young adults who are just starting off. What they want is for us to help them plan their wedding, party, birthday or what ever else they are celebrating. Younger couples, who want us to plan their wedding or a party, don’t have time to plan out the whole evening. We would take their responsibilities and do all the dirty work for them so they can be at ease.
How can I give them what they want?
Although we do all the set up and planning, it is all run by them before being put into action. They contribute their ideas and tell us what they do and don’t want. We listen to how they want their event to go and we add details and make sure that everything goes smoothly and how our client wants them to. We make sure that we incorporate everything they ask for so they can have the experience they want.
What are current trends?
What most people want these days is a way to have fun but not have to do any setting up and taking down. We are simply here to do this for them. We setup their event for them and then take it down after so they can focus on having a good time.
Why do a monthly cash flow analysis?
Doing a monthly cash flow analysis is extremely important. This basically defines if your business is successful or not. If you are gaining money, then your business is very successful. It is unlikely you will have problems with repairs or money because you have extra money to sustain your supplies. If your cash flow is going down, then you are losing money. This means you will eventually run out of money and will be forced to shut down your business. Without this analysis you don’t know if your business is good or if it needs to be improved.
How do I know if I am ready to start a business?
If the business goes down and you are not willing to go down with it, then you aren’t ready to start it. You have to be completely committed and you can’t give up without a fight. You have to be able to track your costs and know how to effectively spend money. Finally make sure you know how you want to run your business and what kind of people you want to hire.
Why is competition Important?
Without competition, there is nothing pushing us to be our best. If there was no competition we wouldn’t have to worry about improving or updating our guarantees because we would never lose any customers. With no one comparing you to anyone, there is no reason to improve so your company would never grow. Competition is the only way you can reach your full potential.
How can I market my business?
To market my business I will have to advertise. Commercials, billboards and business cards are good ways to do this. They will show all the positives of my business and why people should choose us over our competition. I will make a logo and a quote so people remember us and maybe come to us in the future.
Why is my business different from other businesses?
I think my business is different from other businesses because mine is more personal. We get someone to communicate with our clients to make sure we do what they want and they are satisfied with our work. We use our clients opinions so they get what they want and not what we think they want.
