My Personal Labyrinth
In my opinion, a personal Labyrinth is someones personal struggles and problems in life. My personal Labyrinth would be family, friends and school. Family has always been important to me but my parents work and have responsibilities. The communication in my family has decreased over the years and school work just adds to this problem. In school we are expected to look and act a certain way. Then there's all the homework and in class work that can be a challenge if you don't understand something. When things are difficult, you can always turn to your friends. Although your friends can always make you feel better, it is hard for them to know exactly what you are going through because everyone's situation is different. Someone's personal Labyrinth is something that they can never escape because no one has a perfect life. They might seem like the happiest person on the outside but on the inside they may be hurting.

_    To me finding "the great perhaps" is about searching for something that will complete your life. You need to make an effort to try and find what is missing and that is what Miles moved from Florida to do. He doesn't necessarily know what he is looking, but he is trying to start over his life and find out. Finding this "great perhaps" is like a life's mission, and is like destiny giving you something that will change your life forever.
In my opinion, being "present" is not just physically being somewhere, it is also being there mentally. In the book when Miles was daydreaming in class, he was physically in the classroom, but mentally, he was in his own world. I feel that if you want to be "present" in every day life, you have to live your life to its fullest and not live a predictable boring life. If i had to give advice to someone about how to stay "present" it would be to make life worth it and find a reason to wake up every morning. If you plan every day, then life is too predictable. If you find meaning in your life, you will want to spend every moment like its your last.
